Historic Transport Coastal Run

The Historic Transport Club is proud to invite you to the 37th annual running of the Devon Coastal Road Safety Run being held this year on Sunday 19th July..

The run will start as usual from the Exeter Racecourse. The start will be open from 8.00 a.m. until 10.0 a.m. with the first vehicles leaving from 8.30 a.m. and the last vehicles away no later than 10.0 a.m. The route is approximately 70 miles of South Devon scenery, coastal views and river estuaries. There will be stops as usual on Teignmouth Sea Front and at the Quay West Car Park in Paignton adjacent to Goodrington Sands with the run finishing around lunchtime at Mill Marsh Park, Bovey Tracey - a delightful setting on the edge of Dartmoor.

An optional informal road run through the Devon Countryside including a pub stop will take place on Saturday afternoon, 18th July, leaving Mill Marsh Park, Bovey Tracey at approximately 4.15 p.m. (please assemble at 4.00 p.m. for a departure soon afterwards). If you would like to take part in this run please indicate this on the entry form.

Owners of all types of preserved vintage & classic vehicles built prior to 31st December 1985 are eligible to attend. All commercial vehicles over 20 years old are welcome to enter.

Entries this year will be limited to 200 vehicles on a first come first served basis - please apply now. The final closing date for entries will be 1st June 2015; no late entries can be accepted this year.

There is ample hotel and B&B accommodation available in Bovey Tracey. There is also free overnight camping available in the rally field on Saturday night. "PortaLoos" will be on site, but there is no fresh water supply on the site.

In the event of adverse weather conditions or other factors outside the control of the Historic Transport Club changes may be necessary to the route, the stopping points or the finishing venue. The event will run regardless of weather conditions and there will be no refund of entry fees.

To enter the run please complete an entry form and return it to the entries secretary with your cheque for £12 payable to Historic Transport Club together with an A5 sized stamped addressed envelope for the return of your rally number and event information. The Historic Transport Club now requires evidence that all vehicles taking part in the Devon Coastal Road Safety Run are covered under a current insurance policy. If you current certificate is valid at the date of the run, please include a copy with your entry form. If your renewal falls due in the period between submitting your entry and the date of the run you will be required to produce a valid certificate of insurance at the start of the run or post a copy to the entries secretary when your new certificate is received to save time at the start.

Without sight of a certificate of insurance valid for the weekend of July 18th & 19th entrants will not be allowed to take part in the run and no refund of entry fee will be made.
