Over the bank holiday at the beginning of May whilst attending BMAD festival a member of the Devon branch heard a voice whilst booking in to his campsite that he recognised. As the person in question turned around it turned out to be none other then Rotary genius Brian Crighton who engineered the rotary engines raced by the likes of Steve Spray, Trevor Nationa and Steve Hislop who won the TT with one of his engines just to name a few.... The member in question was Rotary nut Geroge Molyneux who took the opportunity to invite Brian to see Ian's collection of Nortons since the camp site they were both staying at was less then 3 miles away. Later that evening after a long chat between Brian and George who was picking Brians brain about his pressurised cooled all new 700cc rotary engine Brian agreed to visit Ians collection. The next morning Dom led Brain to the collection and on opening the door both Brain and his wife's face lit up. Soon they were picking there way through the bikes and before to long the cameras were out photographing some of the rarer machines. Dom and Ian took this opportunity to get a photo with Brian stood next to Steve Sprays personnal Norton F1 that is now part of Ian's collection, it was a very special moment and was an exciting time for all parties. Ian and Dom have invited Brian to attend Norton Festival to judge and award the prize for best rotary. Brians reply was a positive on the basis of his diary being free.
